In Lake Tahoe, our science-backed cleanups have revealed that for every piece of litter visible on the surface, ten more are buried beneath.
By combining advanced robotics with human-powered efforts, our cleanups are up to ten times more effective at preventing pollution before it reaches the lake.

BEBOT
ECO-CLEAN Solutions brought the first beach-cleaning robot to Lake Tahoe in 2022. Volunteer cleanups alone could not keep pace with the litter piling up on the shoreline. This remote-controlled, battery-powered robot sifts two inches beneath the sand to remove litter before it pollutes the lake and becomes nearly impossible to recover.

In partnership with Keep Tahoe Blue and Tahoe Keys Marina, ECO-CLEAN Solutions is piloting PIXIEDRONE, an automous aquatic skimming drone, capturing floating debris and curbing the spread of invasive weed fragments. PIXIEDRONE serves as a model for marinas worldwide to protect waterways from ecological threats.

Collec’Thor is a stationary waste collector that silently captures floating debris and invasive aquatic weeds across a wide area. Piloted in Summer 2025 at the Tahoe Keys Marina, Collec’Thor is another tool in the toolbox to help contain the spread of aquatic invasive weeds in Lake Tahoe.
Our tools don’t just clean beaches, they empower communities, inform decision-makers, and create new pathways to protect the places people love most.
